John O'Groats to Lands End 2019
In 2019 I returned to Scotland to complete the near 1000 mile trip from John O'Groats to Lands End, in aid of Marie Curie and the Irish Cancer Society. Unlike the previous attempt I had planned to cycle this distance over 10 days with my good friend, Steve.
Despite the reduced challenge of not riding non-stop like in 2014, it would seem that riding End-to-End is not a challenge to take lightly. Its been a year of record breaking heatwaves yet we unfortunately our ride was between these waves, awash in a month of rain. The terrain also, while short lived in comparison to other rides are just as arduous, taking its toll on body and bicycle. Steve on his first cycle tour fared as well as I on my first attempt at JOGLE, completing only the Scottish leg before succumbing to challenges of cycling 100 miles per day.
I was able to continue on to Cornwall, meeting up with Steve who got the train down for some rest and relaxation.
